IC Green Ltd was founded in Spring 2008 to develop technology platforms to combat the oncoming energy crisis using the latest technologies. The founders, Iain Cranston and Lee McLaughlin, have a solid background in relevant technologies with complimentary experiences in business and industry.

Iain Cranston

Director of Business

Iain graduated with honours from the University of Edinburgh in June 2008 with a BEng in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering. He spent a year studying at the prestigious California Institute of Technology, and interned with their Office of Technology Transfer which is one of the world leaders in its field. During this period, Iain was involved with many University start-up companies while they went through product development and funding procurement stages. Iain has experienced Project Management both in Industry and University settings. As an IT Consultant he controlled the integration of a complete computer system into a small business involving procurement and training. He was also Managing Director of iCUE (Innovative Consulting, University of Edinburgh), a student run consulting company working with SMEs and large multi-national companies including P&G and KPMG.

Lee McLaughlin

Director of Technology

Lee also graduated with honours from the University of Edinburgh in June 2008 with a BEng in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering. Many of his higher level university projects focused on programming hardware devices which is proving a valuable asset to IC Green technology platform. Lee has experience of Self Employment through Website Development contracts as well as providing IT Networking services for small businesses. He also gained Project Management experience through his involvement with FreshAir, the award winning student radio station at the University of Edinburgh, where he also took part in the technical maintanance of the stations hardware and IT facilities.
